The Story of the Autograph
Scott Terry is a former right-handed relief pitcher in the major leagues. He played from 1986 to 1991 for the Cincinnati Reds and the St. Louis Cardinals.
Terry went to school at Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX. It was from there that the Cincinnati Reds drafted him in the 12th round of the 1980 MLB Draft. After toiling in the minors for six years he made his major league debut for the Reds on April 9, 1986. After a year in which he had 28 appearances with three starts and going 1-2 with a 6.14 ERA, he was back in the minors for the 1987 season. In September that year the Reds traded Terry to the St. Louis Cardinals for a player to be named later (which would be Pat Terry).
He finished the 1987 in the majors with the Cardinals and then would be with the club through 1991. While he was mostly used as a relief pitcher he started 11 of 51 games in 1988 and then 24 of 31 games in 1989. He ended his career with a 24-28 record and a 3.73 ERA.
The Score on Scott Terry – 7.0
Scott’s signature looks full of action. That “T” is pretty strong actually. It seems simple but it covers a lot of ground on the card. I think the card that came out the best is the 1990 Upper Deck. But I would say that a lot of cards for that set look great signed because it’s got a lot of bright pictures.
Thanks Mr. Terry! I’m giving this return a 7.
