The Story of the Autograph
Ron Heller is a former tackle in the National Football League. He played from 1984 through 1995 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Philadelphia Eagles, and the Miami Dolphins.
Heller was born and raised on Long Island in New York. He went to college at Penn State. He was drafted in the fourth round of the 1984 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He moved on to the Eagles via trade. Actually it was two trades. He first went to the Seahawks and then he was traded to the Eagles for a draft pick. He played every game except for one for the Eagles from 1988 to 1992 until he missed four games with a foot injury. That was the last year he had in Philadelphia before signing with the Dolphins. While with the Dolphins he had a knee injury that forced him to retire.
More recently he’s spent time coaching. In the mid ’00s he coached with the Amsterdam Admirals in NFL Europe. He then coached with the Toronto Argonauts and more recently with the Jacksonville Jaguars. and New York Jets in the NFL.
The Score on Ron Heller – 5.5
Ron has a kind of small signature. I always find it interesting that such a big guy with probably big and messed up hands from being a lineman is able to sign in a smaller way. These cards show off his signature pretty well. Usually a lineman’s cards are some of the busiest and hide the autograph but not these as much.
Thanks Mr. Heller! I’m giving this return a 5.5.
