The Story of the Autograph

Rod Higgins is a former forward in the NBA. He played from 1982 to 1995 with the Chicago Bulls (twice), Seattle SuperSonics, San Antonio Spurs, New Jersy Nets, Golden State Warriors (twice), Sacramento Kings, and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Higgins was born in Louisiana and grew up in Illinois. He went to college at Fresno State and was a second round pick of the Bulls in the 1982 NBA Draft. His playing career had it’s ups and downs. He started off averaging 10.3 points per game in his rookie year, but then his scoring went down for several year. When he got to Golden State he would pick it up and have a career high 15.3 points per game and have double digit points per game numbers in four of the next five years.

After his playing days were over he was an assistant coach in Golden State and was an assistant general manager with the Wizards. He would go back to Golden State in that role to work with former teammate Chris Mullin. He moved on to become the general manager of the Charlotte Bobcats and then later the team’s president of basketball operations.

He has the record for playing with the most teams in one season – four. That was in the 1985-’86 season with the SuperSonics, Spurs, Nets, and Bulls for his second stint in Chicago.

This is a great return from Rod. I think one of my favorite parts though is the old Warriors uniforms and the yellow on that card. That blue marker helps all those colors too. I might have to try to find more from Rod, but I’m not sure what else I have.

Thanks Mr. Higgins! I’m giving this a return a 6.5.
