Review / Preview – Week of 6/2

TTM Review Preview

Knicks are done, that’s disappointing. I think I need to leave it at that because that last game was more than just disappointing. That just leaves one team left to follow for now… the Mets.

In other news, I got a box from Ryan’s Vintage Cards this week and it was pretty fun. There was a whole lot of 1982-1989 Fleer, which definitely a spot where I have a lot of holes in my collecting. I was very mainly Topps during my early years. In more recent years I filled the more junk years up with extras from bigger purchases and things.

The main draw I think for this round was a Mantle, but I got a pretty nice Griffey rookie in my box. There wasn’t anything crazy vintage in mine. Actually what I think I like most were a few bigger name recent players with some Bowman and Bowman Chrome cards. That’s not usually my things so that was cool to me.

I hope everyone is enjoyed their weekend and has a great week!

The Review

Here’s what happened on the blog last week:

The #twofortuesday posts last week were all Phillies. I could have also used Brewers, but for some reason I went back to the Phillies and I think they’ve come up recently in other #twofortuesday posts. I actually think that there’s been a good amount of Pennsylvania in there in recent weeks.

The Preview

Here’s what I have coming up for this week:

  • Monday: TP…
  • Tuesday: Flatley Stanley…
  • Tuesday: What about Bob…
  • Wednesday: Patch Adams…
  • Thursday: Long and the short of it…
  • Friday: Mark-ed down…
  • Saturday: Johnny O…
  • Sunday: English literature…

This week the #twofortuesday will be all New York, maybe even more specifically, all Long Island.

Other Notes

It was back to a slower week again. This time though, the short week kind of should explain some of that. I had 12 returns this week, all successes. And when you think about a day in there with missing mail, it could have been a little bit better than that.

I didn’t have anything come back above my straggler threshold of 200 days. There were three over 100 days out, but nothing crazy in there. I got back a paid return from Stan Bahnsen who I got on a rookie and a rookie cup card – awesome. Other than that, I also got back two returns from teams with Steve Buechele and Mark Kotsay returning from the Rangers and Athletics respectively.

The Recent TTM Success page will be updated next weekend.

Have a great week!
