I haven’t had to travel a long way in a long time. And to add to that, I haven’t had to travel across multiple time zones in a long time. The travel I had a week ago to Las Vegas is still kickin’ my butt. I have no idea what it is but I have just been dragging lately. I’m not sure if these weekend naps are helping or hurting in the grand scheme. But they feel good in the moment.
Other than being tired I’m just dealing with the ups and downs of being a sports fan. As far as the ups… there’s the Rangers. Making it to the Eastern Conference Finals is definitely nice. I’m really hoping there will be more in it for them this year. They seem like a really good bunch of people. I would say easy to root for, but I get that not everyone will feel that way.
Then there’s the team that is a mix of up and down. The Knicks are back and forth with the Pacers which makes it fun in a way and stressful in another way. I really don’t know how they are doing it with so many guys out. And then today maybe having Josh Hart and OG out… I am worried they won’t get it done. But when things are going well, there’s not many places like the Garden.
On the opposite end of the spectrum there the Mets. They just get really hard to watch. Lately it is zero offense and if its not that its Edwin Diaz blowing a save. It really feels like that one year he let up all those homers all over again. That seemed like mechanics. Maybe the injury he had last year has him behind a step and he needs some time. Its just making it hard to watch and I am a glutton for punishment.
I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend and has a great week!
The Review
Here’s what happened on the blog last week:
- Monday: Glenn Adams
- Tuesday: Bob Sweeney, Rick Wise
- Wednesday: Todd Krygier
- Thursday: Carlos Garcia
- Friday: Adam Keefe
- Saturday: Greg Kite
- Sunday: Larry Dierker
After a week of Yankees I moved the #twofortuesday up to Boston. Even more specifically, to #Bahston. There was a Bruin and a member of the Red Sox up on Tuesday. To keep the New England theme going I even got a Whaler up there on Wednesday.
The Preview
Here’s what I have coming up for this week:
- Monday: Let’s get Clancy with it…
- Tuesday: RUFUS…
- Tuesday: #eastboundanddown…
- Wednesday: Up and Adam…
- Thursday: Bourques Head…
- Friday: The Butler did it…
- Saturday: Woberwto…
- Sunday: Combs your hair…
This week’s #twofortuesday theme is all for the #emeraldcity. Two Seattle guys came up on the backlog list so I’m going with that.
Other Notes
This week I got back 16 total returns. Unfortunately, there were three failures in there. I had been doing so well with not getting failures for weeks at a time and it seems like lately I am collecting them a bit. I think two of those failures were my fault on the address. Although one of them was a failure after three years. I think maybe that one is more on the post office. The other failure I messed up the house number. The third of the failures was for Jim Rooker who charges $10 and I missed that.
The only straggler was the failure from Ken Ryan that took 1079 days before it came back. I didn’t have anything come back from teams or anything like that. I also got a paid return back from Jose Tartabull which for me is interesting because its a Kansas City Athletics card.
The Recent TTM Success page will be updated next weekend.
Have a great week!
