Review / Preview – Week 4/7

TTM Review Preview

It’s now april and March Madness is just about over. I think we are going to get some fun championship games over the next two days.

First, UConn v. South Carolina is a monster game for so many reasons. I’m a UConn fan so I am obviously going to be rooting for the Huskies, but I have a hard time thinking that they are going to win. Of course UConn has some great players, but so does South Carolina and you can really say they are definitely deeper. Plus with how things have gone in recent years, they know how to win, especially in big games like this. I know UConn beat them earlier in the year, but I almost feels that’s like a strike against them.

As for the men’s game, it will be nice to see a different school in there. Actually in a way two different schools. Florida has been strong, but really not for a while. Houston was even more a while ago. The Cougars have been knocking on the door for a while so it was nice to see them break through.

I hope everyone is enjoyed their weekend and has a great week!

The Review

Here’s what happened on the blog last week:

I did have a #twofortuesday theme last week – it’s was Cali-style theme. That was a bit of a stretch with Gagne because he was a Twin for so long, but I had one from him in a Dodgers uniform. Grahe was in an Angels uniform so that worked.

The Preview

Here’s what I have coming up for this week:

  • Monday: Keep your Witts about you…
  • Tuesday: Its a BOGar deal…
  • Tuesday: Young at heart…
  • Wednesday: Ruben sandwich…
  • Thursday: Mike and Ike…
  • Friday: Duncan booth…
  • Saturday: Paul American…
  • Sunday: Que Harrah, Harrah…

I’ve got another #twofortuesday theme for this week. This time around we are headed to Houston. Almost just in time for the Cougars in the championship team (will be the day after). Maybe these will be serendipitous posts.

Other Notes

This was an OK week. Right on the line of bad and good. I got 16 returns back and one of them was a failure. I would take that every week in general. The failure was from Neftali Feliz. Of course that was a random Spring Training attempt I tried to make. I saw someone else get something back from him so I tried it. He was a non-roster signee I think, but the Mariners returned it to me.

As for everything else, I got back a paid return from Bobby Shantz. That was a 1959 card and I don’t have a lot of those really old cards signed, but it seems like in the last two months I’ve gotten a few more of those back than usual. I also got back a “school” return from Gregg Olson – you can find him at Auburn. No stragglers this time around with the oldest returns being from 122 days ago.

The Recent TTM Success page will be updated next weekend.

Have a great week!
