The Story of the Autograph
Ray Soff is a former right-handed relief pitcher in the major leagues. He played from 1986 to 1987 for the St. Louis Cardinals.
Soff was born and raised in Michigan. In high school he helped his baseball team win the state championship in 1976. The next step in his career led him to play a with Central Michigan University. He was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 11th round of the 1979 MLB Draft. He spent the next seven years in the minors with the Cubs and never made it to the majors before they released him in April of 1985.
He signed with the Cardinals in June of 1985 and would make his debut the following season on July 17, 1986. He made 30 appearances in his first season and went 4-2 with a 3.29 ERA. He played into the following season with the Cardinals and made his last appearance in May of 1987. He was released after the 1987 season.

Ray doesn’t have all that many cards to choose from with only spending two years in the majors. But thankfully there were plenty of card brands that he could appear on. His signature is pretty standard but it shows up pretty well on these cards.
