The Story of the Autograph
Ray Berry is a linebacker in the National Football League. He played from 1987 to 1993 with the Minnesota Vikings and the Seattle Seahawks.
Berry was born in New Mexico but grew up in Texas. He played his college football at Baylor University. He had a legendary moment for the Bears that earned him Sports Illustrated College Football Defensive Player of the Week for a game-saving interception that helped them upset the #2 ranked USC Trojans in Los Angeles.
The Vikings drafted Berry with the 44th overall pick in the second round of the 1987 NFL Draft. He played in 89 total games over his career and only started 31 of them, including all 16 games in 1991. That year he got the one-and-only interception of his career. He had four sacks, one safety and two fumble recoveries for his career.
The Score on Ray Berry – 5.5
Ray looks like a guy who mostly signs his initials. I think that would probably come off better with a thicker marker. I really like the style he has, but on a busy football card it can sometimes get lost a little bit. But the “R” and “B” go together so well together.
Thanks Mr. Millard! I’m giving this return a 5.5.
