The Story of the Autograph
Pat Tilley is a former wide receiver in the National Football League. He played for the St. Louis Cardinals for his entire career from 1976 to 1986.
Tilley was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. After graduating high school he attended Louisiana Tech University. He was drafted by the Cardinals, who were then in St. Louis, in the 1976 NFL Draft in the fourth round.
His first two years were not very productive but that changed in 1978. That year he put up the first of four straight season with at least 900 yards. The next two years he put up six touchdowns each year which would tie a career high (he did it three times in his career). 1980 was his one and only Pro Bowl season. He broke the 1,000 yard mark the next season in 1981.
The Score on Pat Tilley – 6.5
I only sent Pat one card. The card I sent was the 1982 Topps card and he included the 1979 Topps card. I wonder if that has something to do with why one is personalized and the other isn’t. Pat’s signature is pretty standard. It’s not small, but not big necessarily either.
Thanks Mr. Tilley! I’m giving this return a 6.5.
