The Story of the Autograph
Mike Schooler is a former relief pitcher. He played for the Mariners and Rangers from 1988 through 1993.
Mike was born and raised in southern California. He attended Golden West College and Cal State Fullerton before being drafted by the Mariners in the second round of the 1985 MLB Draft. His debut would come three years later on June 10, 1988 against the Minnesota Twins. In that rookie season he worked his way into the closing role and finished with 15 saves.
His sophomore effort would be even better and he would put together a 33 save season to go along with a 2.81 ERA. His save total was good enough to be third in the league. In 1990, he again put up another great season of 30 saves but shoulder troubles forced him to miss a good part of the end of the season. Those shoulder problems would continue and the Mariners released him after the 1992 season. The Rangers signed him for his final season, but they cut him before the 1993 season finished.
These days Schooler is a gym teacher in California and coaches high school baseball.
The Score on Mike Schooler – 6.0
Mike has a good sized autograph and uses a good marker. It looks like he maybe messed up a little bit on the Bowman card. Luckily it’s probably the one that doesn’t show off the autograph as well as the others. But overall these came out well.
Thanks Mr. Schooler! I’m giving this return a 6 overall.
