The Story of the Autograph
Mike Huff is a former outfielder in the major leagues. He played from 1989 to 1996 with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Cleveland Indians, Chicago White Sox and Toronto Blue Jays.
Huff is a native of Hawaii but grew up in Illinois. He played his college baseball for Northwestern University. He was drafted from there in the 15th round of the 1985 MLB Draft by the Dodgers. After a few years in the minors he made his major league debut on August 7, 1989. He appeared in twelve games but wouldn’t appear in the majors again until 1991 with the Indians. He moved there via the Indians taking him in the 1990 Rule 5 Draft.
He would move on to the White Sox in the middle of the 1991 season as a waiver pickup. He spent the next three seasons in Chicago making between 40-60 appearances each year. He was traded again to the Blue Jays where his appearance picked up to 80 in the 1994 season and then dropped off after that. He would play his last major league game on July 4, 1996.
His best season was in 1994 with the Blue Jays when he played in 80 games and hit a career high .304 with three homers and 25 RBI (both of those tying his previous career high).
The Score on Mike Huff – 7.0
While Mike has a somewhat standard signature, he sure makes it big enough to be special on the card. Stacking the signature certainly helps that. Even though he is in that black jersey he still signed these in places that help his autograph stick out.
Thanks Mr. Huff! I’m giving this return a 7.
