The Story of the Autograph
Marc Rzepczyncki is a former relief pitcher in the major leagues. He played in the majors from 2009 to 2018 with the Toronto Blue Jays, St. Louis Cardinals, Cleveland Indians (twice), San Diego Padres, Oakland Athletics, Washington Nationals, and Seattle Mariners.
Rzepczynski was born in Illinois but grew up in Anaheim, California. He went on to attend California-Riverside and played baseball. That included a Big West Conference championship and an appearance in the NCAA tournament. He was drafted in the fifth round of the 2007 MLB Draft by the Toronto Blue Jays. He made his debut two years later on July 7, 2009.
The Blue Jays started him off as a starter in his first two year and after that he was a reliever for the rest of his career. He was traded in the middle of the 2011 season with Octavio Dotel, Edwin Jackson and Corey Patterson for Trever Miller, Colby Rasmus, Brian Tallet and PJ Walters. That was a pretty good thing for Rzepczynski because the Cardinals would go on to beat the Texas Rangers in the 2011 World Series.
After that his career sort of the typical one you would see of a left-handed reliever. He spent pretty much a year or two in each place before being traded or going elsewhere as a free agent. He’s continued to try to play in the majors and has been with a team since 2019 but not appeared for them. In March of this year he signed with the Lancaster Barnstormers.
The Score on Marc Rzepczynski – 7.5
I like the look of Marc’s signature and this one came out great. That said, I think a better card to ask him to sign it could be even better. There’s a little bit about his signature that kind of seems like its a bit crazy, but then again, his last name is a bit crazy.
Thanks Mr. Rzepczynski! I’m giving this return a 7.5.
