The Story of the Autograph

Lonnie Chisenhall is a major league player currently with Pittsburgh Pirates after signing a free agent deal during this offseason. Prior to that he’d spent is entire career (since 2011) with the Indians. He started out as a third baseman but has since transitioned to playing the outfield.

Chisenhall was born and raised in North Carolina. He was originally drafted by the Pirates in 2006 but chose to attend South Carolina instead of signing. He was dismissed from the team after being charged with breaking into a dorm room and stealing electronics. He moved on to Pitt Community College from there. The Indians then chose him with the 29th overall pick in the MLB Draft in 2008. After a few years in the minor leagues he made his debut with the Indians on June 27, 2011.

Since coming into the majors he’d definitely had his moments. In 2014 he became the first MLB player to ave 5 hits, 3 homers, and 9 RBI in 5 plate appearances (since bettered by Scooter Gennett). In 2017 in the ALDS against the Yankees he had a famous HBP that wasn’t. It was not reviewed and loaded the bases for a Francisco Lindor Grand Slam and the Indians would go on to win the game.

Chisenhall’s best season might have been 2014 when he played in 142 games and hit .280 with 13 homers an 59 RBI.

The Score on Lonnie Chisenhall – 6.5

BraveSTARR Score LogoBraveSTARR Score 6.5

Lonnie has a bit of a loopy signature, at least once you get past his first name. He looks like he puts in this whole first name and then it’s loop-de-loops after that. He used a pretty good marker and signed with a good size, but this one is a little dark at the end of it.

Thanks Mr. Chisenhall! I’m giving this one a 6.5.
