In the 1984 MLB June Amateur Draft, the Kansas City Royals selected him in the 20th round, marking the beginning of his professional baseball journey.
Koslofski’s path to the majors was marked by determination. He spent several years honing his skills in the minor leagues, playing for teams such as the Eugene Emeralds, Fort Myers Royals, Baseball City Royals, Memphis Chicks, and Omaha Royals. His breakout year came in 1991 when he hit .324 with the Memphis Chicks, showcasing his readiness for the big leagues.
On June 28, 1992, at the age of 25, Koslofski made his MLB debut with the Kansas City Royals against the Baltimore Orioles. Batting leadoff, he impressed by going 3-for-5, signaling a promising start to his major league career. That season, he played in 55 games, batting .248 with three home runs and 13 RBIs.
One of the most memorable moments of his career occurred in August 1992 when he hit his first major league home run off Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan. Reflecting on the achievement, Koslofski said, “Some things in life are precious, and hitting that home run was one of those moments.”
Over the next two seasons, his time in the majors was limited, appearing in 15 games in 1993 and just two in 1994. In 1996, he joined the Milwaukee Brewers, playing in 25 games and concluding his MLB career with a .244 batting average, four home runs, and 21 RBIs over 97 games.
Following his baseball career, Koslofski transitioned into the financial sector, becoming a successful financial advisor. He resides in Decatur, Illinois, with his wife, Michelle, and their three children: Gabbie, Kemper, and Kolby. Beyond his professional endeavors, he remains connected to the sport, mentoring young athletes and emphasizing the importance of perseverance and dedication.

Kevin has a sweet signature. It looks like it has a lot of action to it with the angle and the fact that some of these have a bit of a skip in there. I just wish some of them weren’t so dark in the background because that blue with the Royals colors is awesome!
