The Story of the Autograph
Jim Morrison is a former infielder in the major leagues. He primarily played at third base and second base. His career ran from 1977 through 1988 and he played in five cities: Philadelphia, Chicago (with the White Sox), Pittsburgh, Detroit, and Atlanta.
Morrison was born in Florida and went to college in Georgia at both South Georgia College and Georgia Southern University. He was drafted three times before signing. The first two times were by the Pirates and the final time was by the Phillies in the 5th round of the 1974 MLB Draft. He spent a couple years in Philadelphia but was up and down in the minors and then moved on to Chicago via trade.
He played a full season in Chicago for one of the four season he played more than 100 games for any club. He hit .283 with 15 homers and 57 RBI. He then moved on to Pittsburgh where he put in some pretty good years, especially 1986 when he was the team MVP. That hear he played in 154 games and hit .274 with 23 homers and 88 RBI (both of those career highs). He’d play for the Tigers and then Atlanta to close out his career.
After his playing days were over he worked in Italy as the director of the Italian Baseball league. He would also coach a few minor league teams in the Rays system.

Jim has a pretty fancy signature. I think the problem with that is that the use of the thin marker doesn’t let it stick out as much. That said, if he used a thick marker he would probably have to change his approach and it wouldn’t look so detailed. Pros and cons I guess. He returned one card unsigned. I don’t know if he limits it to four or if he just happened to skip one.
