The Story of the Autograph
James Robinson is a former guard in the NBA who is currently a coach in the TBL. He played professionally from 1993 to 2004 with the Portland Trail Blazers, Minnesota Timberwolves (twice), Los Angeles Clippers, Orlando Magic, as well as some teams overseas and in minor league basketball.
Robinson is a native of Jackson, Mississippi. In high school he played with future NBA player Lindsey Hunter. He was named Mississippi’s Mr. Basketball and was a McDonald’s All-American (where he won the All-American dunk contest). He went on to attend Alabama where he played with future NBA players Latrell Sprewell and Robert Horry. He had a great college career and left school after his junior year.
The Trail Blazers drafted him with the 21st overall pick of the 1993 NBA Draft. He had what was really an uneventful career. His best seasons where with Portland and Minnesota between 1994 and 1997 when he average over eight points per game with a career high 9.2 points per game in his second season. From there he bounced around a lot.
In 1999 he went to Greece to play with Olympiacos. After getting a stint with the Magic he was back overseas after that to play in Russia and Italy. He then came back in 2004 and played in the ABA.
The Score on James Robinson – 3.5
This one might be a stamp but it’s hard to tell. It kind of camp out like a stamp, but it also could just be the way the pen came out on these. It looks more ball point than anything else, which you know I am not a fan of overall. But the signature does have some inconsistencies that suggest it’s not a stamp. Even if it isn’t, these aren’t all great cards to sign as they are really busy and dark.
Thanks Mr. Robinson! I’m giving this return a 3.5 overall.
