The Story of the Autograph
Eric Ball is a former running back in the National Football League. He played from 1989 to 1995 with the Cincinnati Bengals and Oakland Raiders.
Ball was born in Cleveland, Ohio but went to high school in Ypsilanti, Michigan. He went to college at UCLA and tied a Rose Bowl record in 1986 when he scored four touchdowns against the Iowa Hawkeyes, winning the MVP in the process. But he also had two notable fumbles, one against USC and the other against Washington State when the Bruins were #1 and upset by the Cougars.
In 1989 the Bengals took Ball with the 35th overall pick in the second round of the NFL Draft. He played running back but returned a lot of kicks for the Bengals. His best year as a running back was his rookie season when he put up 391 yards and three touchdowns. All others years he never topped 100 yards for the season. But in 1994, he got just over 900 yards as a kick returner alone.
He was selected by the Panthers in the 1995 NFL Expansion Draft but never made their roster. He then played one season with the Oakland Raiders before hanging up his cleats.

Eric has an interesting signature. It’s interesting how he uses his last initial and his first name to make a kind of cross in there. I don’t know that that’s on purpose or what, but I like it. The 1993 Wild Card is just so dark though with that black jersey that it’s hard to see the signature on that one. But the Score card is pretty great.
