The Story of the Autograph
Doug Widell is a former offensive lineman in the National Football League. He played from 1989 to 1997 with the Denver Broncos, Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions, and Indianapolis Colts.
Widell was born in Hartford, Connecticut and went to college with his brother Dave at Boston College. After his time as an Eagle he was drafted by the Broncos in the second round of the 1989 NFL Draft with the 41st overall pick. He spent start 10 games his first season and established himself as the left guard.
His first four seasons were with the Broncos and he was part of their run to Super Bowl XXIV in a losing effort to the Redskins. From there he moved on to Green bay where he only started nine games. He then went to Detroit and Indianapolis where he was the starter for two years each with those teams.
The Score on Doug Widell – 7.0
Doug has what looks like just a first initial but he actually sort of crosses out the “D” and puts a little line down for his “g”. These look really great in blue, especially that 1992 Pro Set. That’s one of my favorite Pro Set cards so I’m really glad I had a double of that.
Thanks Mr. Widell! I’m giving this return a 7.
