The Story of the Autograph
Derrick May is a former outfielder in the major leagues. He played from 1990 to 1999 with the Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee Brewers, Houston Astros, Philadelphia Phillies, Montreal Expos, and Baltimore Orioles. He then played in Japan from 2001 to 2003 with the Chiba Lotte Marines.
May was born in New York and grew up in Delaware. He was set to go to Virginia Tech and play baseball and football, but the Cubs drafted him out of high school with the ninth overall pick in the first round of the 1986 MLB Draft. He chose to sign with them and made his first major league appearance with them on September 6, 1990.
He bounced between the majors and minor in his first two seasons and got his first real shot in 1992. He had three pretty good seasons with the Cubs between 1992 and 1994 when he would hit in the neighborhood of .280 with about nine homers, 60 RBI and add in a few stolen bases in those seasons. It probably wasn’t where the Cubs were thinking a ninth overall pick would be though.
He moved on to the Brewers as a free agent in 1995 and they would trade him to the Astros in the same season. This started a lot of moving around through the rest of his career. He didn’t spend more than two seasons anywhere until he went to play in Japan.
In more recent years he’s worked as a coach at different levels and currently is the hitting coordinator with the SSG Landers in Korea.

These came out pretty good from Derrick. The signature is really clear on these cards and I think I picked a couple good ones that would let his signature show. It looks like he puts a little more emphasis on his last name with the say he sort of pops that out at the end. You could definitely fit this signature into a triangle.
