The Story of the Autograph
Dereck Rodriguez is a right-handed starting pitcher who plays for the San Francisco Giants. He’s from Texas and is the son of Hall of Famer Ivan Rodriguez.
Rodriguez was originally selected by the Minnesota Twins in the sixth round of the 2011 MLB Draft as an outfielder. In his first few years in rookie ball he didn’t show too much offensively. In 2014 the Twins converted him to a pitcher and he would end up being Pitcher of the Year the very next year while with the Elizabethton Twins.
He played winter ball in Puerto Rico and went to the 2017 Caribbean Series. He was then chosen to play for the Silver Medal team in the WBC of 2017 for Puerto Rico. The it was back to the minors for that season.
The Giants signed him to a minor league deal last season and he debuted on May 28th. He put up a 6-4 record and 4.75 ERA for the Giants last season.

I like the style of Dereck’s autograph. The “D” without the vertical bar looks pretty cool. It’s kind of interesting that it gets a bit more loopy when it comes to his last name. These came out great but the Heritage card is a little muddled because of what’s on the card.
