The Story of the Autograph

Dave Edler is a former corner infielder in the major leagues. He played from 1980 to 1983 and spent his career with the Seattle Mariners.

Edler was born in Des Moines, Iowa but grew up in Yakima, Washington. After high school he went to the Washington State University where he played until 1978. Then the Mariners selected him in the 21st round of the 1978 MLB Draft. He made his major league debut for them two years later on September 4, 1980.

He played parts of the next four seasons in the majors but was pretty much bouncing back and forth to the minors. His best shot was in 1982 when he played 40 games and hit .279 with two homers, two triples, and 18 RBI.

In 2003 Edler served as a city council member in Yakima and did that through 2006. He then served as the city’s mayor until 2010.

The Score on Dave Edler – 7.0

This is a really good return from Dave. It’s another example of a lesser know player, one that really didn’t play much, having a much better signature as compared to his baseball stats. The blue marker looks great with the old Seattle uniform and the marker really sticks out well.

Thanks Mr. Edler! I’m giving this return a 7.
