The Story of the Autograph
Darren Bragg is a former outfielder in the majors leagues. He played for nine teams during a career that spanned eleven seasons: Seattle Mariners, Boston Red Sox, St, Louis Cardinals, Colorado Rockies, New York Mets, New York Yankees, Atlanta Braves, San Diego Padres, and Cincinnati Reds.
Bragg is a Connecticut native. After high school he went to Georgia Tech to play for the Yellow Jackets. He was then drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 22nd round of the 1991 MLB Draft. After three years in the minor leagues he made his major league debut on April 12, 1994. He played in just eight games that first season and 52 the following seasons while bouncing from the minors.
In 1996 he was having a good season for the Mariners and they traded him to the Red Sox for Jamie Moyer. Bragg would have some of his best seasons in a Boston uniform. That included career highs in RBU with 57 both in the 1997 and 1998 seasons and almost getting to his career high in home runs with nine and eight in those seasons respectively.
From there he became a journeyman outfielder and never spent more than a season and a half with any team and not really getting much chance to start anywhere except for Atlanta. He played his final game with the Reds on October 3, 2004.
More recently he’s coached in the minor leagues with the Reds as part of the staff of the Dayton Dragons.
The Score on Darren Bragg – 6.5
I really didn’t have many cards of Darren, but I’m not really sure how many there are out there anyway. I think these are pretty good ones to have since he started with the Mariners and had his best seasons with the Red Sox. The Pacific card is definitely my favorite of these two because it shows the signature off much better.
Thanks Mr. Bragg! I’m giving this return a 6.5 overall.
