The Story of the Autograph
Danny Duffy is a left-handed starting pitcher with the Kansas City Royals. He was drafted in the third round of the 2007 MLB Draft and worked his way up through the Royals system from 2007 through 2011. In May of 2011 Duffy was called up to the Show and ended up going 4-8 in the first 20 starts of his career with a 5.64 ERA and 87 strikeouts.
He won a starting job in 2012 out of Spring Training but then tore his UCL and had Tommy John surgery in June of that year. He was back to the big club by August of the next year. In 2014 he missed out on winning a job and was back in the minors. But because of another injury on the staff he was back with the Royals. That year he posted a 9-12 record with a 2.53 ERA.
2015 was an OK year for his from a personal perspective with a 7-8 record and 4.08 ERA, but the best part was he was part of the Royals World Series Championship team and made three relief appearances in the World Series. 2016 was Dannys best year yet. He made 26 starts in 42 games. He finished the year with a 12-3 record and 3.51 ERA and 188 strikeouts. Last year was a another year closer to .500 and Danny experienced a few injuries throughout the season. But he also was part of Team USA team in the World Baseball Classic that won the gold.
The Score on Danny Duffy – 6.5
Danny has a bit of a messy signature, but by the same token he signs really consistently. You wouldn’t think so, but it looks the same whenever you see it. He also signs with a great marker and in the end takes up a good amount of space on the item. He’s a pretty reliable signer from what I’ve seen. I just never seem to have any of his cards to send.
Thanks Mr. Duffy! Good luck this season! I’m giving this one a 6.5.
