The Story of the Autograph
Chase Anderson is a starting pitcher for the Milwaukee Brewers. He’s been in the majors since 2014 when he started out in Arizona.
Anderson grew up in Texas and after attending North Central Texas College he moved on to the University of Oklahoma. The Twins drafted him in the 42nd round of the 2006 draft and then again in the 40th round of the 2007 draft but he did not sign. When the Diamondbacks drafted him in the ninth round two years later he chose to sign wit them. After several years in the minors, Anderson made his debut on May 6, 2014. In two years with the Diamondbacks he went 15-13 with a 4.18 ERA and actually had a winning season in his rookie year. But the Diamondbacks traded him to the Brewers for Jean Segura, among others.
In his three years with the Brewers Anderson has a 30-23 record with a 3.71 ERA. That was helped by a great 2017 season when he went 12-4 with a 2.74 ERA and 133 strikeouts for his career best season so far. He took a no-hitter into the eighth inning of a game in May of last year. It was against his former team, the Diamondbacks, but it was broken up by a single from Nick Ahmed.
In 2018, Anderson was the Opening Day starter, however, he was left off the roster in the postseason. He struggled a bit in the second half and didn’t start a game after September 18th.
The Score on Chase Anderson – 5.5
I like Chase’s autograph and he did one of the things I always like players to do – he signed big! And this card is perfect for a big signature. The problem with this one is the big smudge. It looks like that probably happened while handling the card and note in the envelope or anything. I hope to find some more of Chase’s cards because he appears to be a reliable starter and his autograph looks good.
Thanks Mr. Anderson! I’m giving this one a 5.5.
