The Story of the Autograph

Bud Anderson is a former right-handed relief pitcher in the major leagues. He played during the 1982 and 1983 seasons for the Cleveland Indians.

Anderson was born and raised in Westbury, New York. He went on to Rutgers University in New Jersey where he played both baseball and football. The Seattle Mariners drafted him in the third round of the 1977 MLB Draft. He never made it to the majors with Seattle though. In 1980 they traded him to the Indians for a minor league and Ted Cox.

After a couple more years in the minors, he made his major league debut on June 11, 1982 for the Indians. Over the next two seasons he would get into 64 games with six starts. He pitched to a 3.68 ERA and a 4-10 record. After the 1983 season he never appeared in another major league game.

Bud put a lot of good ink on these. His signature is nice and big and even his personalization has some size to it. I love all early 80’s the facial hair there is on these with beards, different levels of ‘stache, and sideburns.

Thanks Mr. Anderson! I’m giving this return a 6.
