The Story of the Autograph
Wilbur Howard is a former outfield in the major leagues. He played from 1973 to 1978 with the Milwaukee Brewers and the Houston Astros.
Howard was born and raised in Lowell, North Carolina. He was drafted by the Seattle Pilots in the 19th round of the 1969 MLB Draft. While they were the Seattle Pilots originally, they soon became the Milwaukee Brewers and he didn’t make his first appearance until after that transition happened. Howard debuted on September 4, 1973.
He played just that one season with the Brewers and was traded just prior to the start of the 1974 season to the Houston Astros. He spent the rest of his major league career, until 1978, in Houston. He was mostly used as a fourth outfielder, but in 1975 he got a few more chances and ended up in 121 games with a .283 average, 21 RBI and 32 stolen bases.
The Score on Wilbur Howard – 5.5
Wilbur looks like he someone who maybe tries to find the best place to sign on the card. His autograph is a little bit wobbly in places but be tries to fill up the card all the way across. That includes maybe running off the edge a little bit.
Thanks Mr. Howard! I’m giving this return a 5.5.
