The Story of the Autograph
Jeff Bostic is a former center in the National Football League. He spent his entire fourteen year career with the Washington Redskins.
Bostic was born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina. He went to college at Clemson and was All-ACC in 1979 and later named to their All-Centennial team and Hall of Fame, as well as the South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame. He went undrafted and the Redskins signed him in 1980. Starting in his second season of 1981, he became the starting Center for what would become one of the more famous offensive lines in the NFL, “The Hogs.”
Bostic would earn a Pro Bowl appearance and All-Pro status in 1983, the only of his career. However, he was part of three Super Bowl winning Redskins teams and led the way for some great Redskins running back performances including the likes of John Riggins. The team has named him one of the 70 Greatest Reskins and put him in their Ring of Fame.
The Score on Jeff Bostic – 7.0
Jeff has a good sized signature and he does a pretty good job of putting a bunch of ink on your cards. He used a pretty good marker although the ’92 Pro Set card is a little light in some places. “The Hogs” are such a classic NFL group with a classic NFL nickname. At this point I have a few of their signatures and it’s great to have that as a piece of the NFL’s history. When I think of them, I think of watching playoff games and listening to John Madden and Pat Summerall.
Thanks Mr. Bostic! This return gets a 7.
