The Story of the Autograph

Mark Price is a former point guard in the NBA. He played from 1986 through 1998 for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Washington Bullets, Golden State Warriors, and Orlando Magic.

Price was born and raised in Oklahoma. He went to college at Georgia Tech from 1982 through 1986. During his time in school he was a two-time All Americana and four-time All ACC player. He helped the Yellow Jackets with an ACC Championship in his junior year and was name ACC Player of the Year for the 1984-85 season.

The Dallas Mavericks came calling in the 1986 NBA Draft and they made him the 25th overall pick with their second round selection. But they traded him on Draft day to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Despite people thinking he was small and slow, Price was a key piece of some really strong Cavaliers teams.

He was a four-time NBA All-Star, All-NBA First Team in 1993, three-time All NBA Third Team and won the 3-Point shootout in consecutive years in 1993 and 1994. He also represented the USA twice, once during his college years in the Pan American Games and then later in the FIBA World Championships. Price was always a great assist man and was only just recently passed by Lebron James for the Cavs record.

Later on in his career he was plagued by injuries. He was waived by the Magic to end his career in 1998. He went on to be a coach in both the NBA and the NCAA.

Mark has a nice signature, but of course all of these cards a so dark. The Stadium Club card is my favorite though. It is nice to have so many of him as a Cav though because that’s the way he should be remembered.

Thanks Mr. Price! I’m giving this return a 6.
