The Story of the Autograph
Terry McGriff is a former major league catcher. He played from 1987 through 1994 with the Reds, Astros, Marlins and Cardinals.
McGriff was born and raised in Florida and was drafted by the Reds in the eighth round of the 1981 MLB Draft. He made his major league debut six years later on July 11, 1987. Most of his time was spent in the majors with the Reds (three and a half years) with some short stints in other places.
He never spent much time in the majors in any season though. The most games he played was in 1994 with the Cardinals when he made it into 42 games in the last year he played in the majors. He only played more than 30 games three times in his career and other than that he appeared in less than 10 games in any given season.
McGriff is the cousin of Fred McGriff and the uncle of Charles Johnson. After retiring from playing he went into coaching.
The Score on Terry McGriff – 6.5
This is a great sized signature. The black marker works great on these cards with the Reds uniforms. A blue marker would have looks find, but the black goes much better. He didn’t sign the duplicate card I sent so either he only signs for or he doesn’t sign duplicate cards.
Thanks Mr. McGriff! I’m giving this one a 6.5.
