The Story of the Autograph

Bob Beers is a former defenseman in the NHL. He played in eight seasons between 1989 and 1997 with the Boston Bruins (twice), Tampa Bay Lightning, Edmonton Oilers, and New York Islanders.

Beers is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He went to college at Northern Arizona University and the University of Maine. He was drafted by the Bruins in the tenth round of the 1985 NHL Draft while he was at Northern Arizona and stayed in school before making his NHL debut in the 1989-’90 NHL season. He started by splitting time with the Bruins and AHL teams the Maine Mariners and Providence Bruins.

He got his first full time shot in the league when he moved on to the Tampa Bay Lightning in 1992 after being traded there by the Bruins for Stephane Richer. It would be one of his two best seasons in the NHL as he put up 12 goals and 24 assists. The Lightning moved him to the Oilers the following season and he put up an 11 goals and 32 assist season for a career high of 43 points for the year.

He was with the Islanders for a couple seasons and then finished out his career with the Bruins in 1997. After retiring from the league he played with the Providence Bruces through 2000 and was part of their 1999 Calder Cup winning squad.

The Score on Bob Beers – 7.0

Bob has a great name, for multiple reasons. But its really those repeating letters that make it interesting in the signature department. The “Bs” look great repeating on these. And these came out pretty well for having some busy images on them and really not the best marker to pop off the card. Both cards have a bit of rubbing on there that you can see, but still came out fine.

Thanks Mr. Beers! I’m giving this return a 7 overall.
