Review / Preview – Week of 9/11

TTM Review Preview

Like I thought would happen, I didn’t get out to see the Mets while they were in DC this week. It was just too darn hot out there and there was way too much going on. It’s a shame because I haven’t been to a ball game in forever. I really think I need to focus on more of that for next year.

I am excited for football though! The Giants play on Sunday night and while I can’t wait to watch them, I’m also bracing myself for the impending doom. I always get this feeling that me actually getting to watch them is a jinx. I don’t have Sunday Ticket or anything like that. And I don’t have cable to I am kind of forced to watch whatever is on. That means I don’t get to watch them too much.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

The Review

Here’s what happened on the blog last week:

  • Monday: Carl Banks
  • Tuesday: Chris Snopek, Adam Peterson
  • Wednesday: Rich Karlis
  • Thursday: Dick Schofield
  • Friday: Pete Stanicek
  • Saturday: Tyler Houston
  • Sunday: Rob Zettler

There was a White Sox theme for the #twofortuesday posts last week. I’ve been able to have a few themes during most recent weeks which is nice. And really I just kind of happen upon them with the next posts I have lined up.

The Preview

Here’s what I have coming up for this week:

  • Monday: Jay walking…
  • Tuesday: Rader Joe’s…
  • Tuesday: Trader Joe’s…
  • Wednesday: Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper…
  • Thursday: Breech of trust…
  • Friday: Toby, or not Toby…
  • Saturday: Is there a doctor in the house…
  • Sunday: Mark my words…

I’ve got an Astros theme for the #twofortuesday this week. And it’s an almost all baseball week.

Other Notes

I know it was a short week in terms of mail days with Labor Day being last Monday, but sometimes that means there’s a day that will burst with some mail that had to catch up. That and some slow weeks had me kind of thinking that this might be a better week. Unfortunately not.

I had even less returns than the last two slow weeks. I had only nine returns this week with eight of them successful. That’s just way to slow for my taste. I don’t think I’m doing anything really different than I usually do as I am really consistent with the way I send things out. I don’t remember this being a particularly slow time of year in past years but I could be wrong.

As for what I got back, there was just one #straggler and it was quite a doozy. I got a return from Derek Holland that I sent five years ago while he was a member of the Giants. It came back in 1,806 days! Love those! It also tells you that Derek is good enough to keep all that stuff. While it might not be done quickly he got to it which some others don’t ever do.

Other than that there wasn’t anything particularly crazy in the returns.

Have a great week!
