Holy crap it got hot really quick! And at the same time we’re seeing games snow-out in Colorado. That just seems so crazy. It certainly makes yardwork all the more challenging. But let’s be honest it’s not like its the heart of summer or anything.
We had a neighborhood yard sale day yesterday but it was pretty uneventful. I think it was last year when they did it and they had a lot of participation, but this year it was a little light. Last year there were groups of houses so you could park on one part of the street and walk to a few at a time but this year they were so spread out.
My daughter and I cruised the neighborhood but didn’t really see anything. I think if I had to do one I could put out cards (like my neighbor Sean did last year), but I think I would do a few other things. First, I’d see if other families near us wanted to combine forces to make it a bigger attraction and people stop, second I would put some music on or something (I actually think I have speakers to sell so…), and then third maybe some kind of refreshments for a cause or something like that. You can only get rid of stuff/make some money if you get people to stop so you better make it interesting.
What would you do for a yard sale?
Hope you are doing well!
The Review
Here’s what happened on the blog last week:
- Monday: Luis Alicea
- Tuesday: Frank Bolick, David Nied
- Wednesday: Rick Manning
- Thursday: Jeff Ballard
- Friday: Mike Bielecki
- Saturday: Jim Lindeman
- Sunday: Rich Yett
No themes this week. I was kind of catching up on some things like I’m always doing when I don’t have a theme. This backlog is still pretty old and it will be for a while, but weeks like this are where are tend to go to duplicates in the backlog.
The Preview
Here’s what I have coming up for this week:
- Monday: A mouthful of a last name…
- Tuesday: Fil it up…
- Tuesday: Do you where Treanors?
- Wednesday: 1 Dog…
- Thursday: Steven is my name…
- Friday: Meads to an end…
- Saturday: Havin’ a Ray…
- Sunday: Needs to open a pizza place…
So yeah, last week I made a mistake. I looked a week ahead for what I was previewing. The negative is that I messed up (but you probably didn’t notice). The positive is that the above bullets were already written for me this week… I’ll take the win.
Other Notes
As predicted this was a light week. I only had 12 returns. That’s all down to missing a bunch of days because of not ordering stamps in time. But I’m not making that mistake again and I’ve already ordered new stamps!
Because it was a slow week with less returns that meant there wasn’t a much chance for stragglers and stuff. Paul Assenmacher was out for 128 days and that was the longest by far for this week. I did get a paid return from Richie Zisk and failures from Doug DeCinces and Ron Bryant.
The new Recent TTM Success is updated.
Have a great week!
