The Story of the Autograph

Larry Stahl is a former outfielder in the major leagues. He played from 1964 to 1973 with the Kansas City Athletics, New York Mets, San Diego Padres, and Cincinnati Reds.

Stahl was born and raised in Illinois and was signed as an amateur free agent by the Athletics, then in Kansas City, before the 1960 season. He spent a few years in the minors and debuted on September 11, 1964. He became a regular player in the 1966 season when he played a career high 119 games. It actually turned out to be one of the better seasons in his career.

He was selected off waivers by the Mets in the fall of 1966 and spent two year in New York before being drafted by the Padres in the 1968 MLB Expansion Draft. He had some good seasons for the Padres before spending the last year of his career in Cincinnati.

The Score on Larry Stahl – 5.0

Larry signed in ball point which generally is a no-no for me. I hate to do that but I will say that this came out pretty well from Larry. The ball point is pretty clear and it didn’t scrape into the card or anything like that. But this is about as high as I go for a score on a card signed in ball point. Still doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate it.

Thanks Mr. Stahl! I’m giving this return a 5.
