The Story of the Autograph
Pedro Garcia is a Puerto Rican second baseman who played in the major leagues from 1973 to 1977. He played for the Milwaukee Brewers, Detroit Tigers, and Toronto Blue Jays.
Garcia was born and raised in Puerto Rico. He signed as an amateur free agent with the Seattle Pilots in 1969. Before he could appear as a Pilot though, the team moved to Milwaukee and became the Brewers. He then made his debut as a Brewer on April 6, 1973.
He became the starting second baseman right away. A pretty good rookie campaign (.245 average with 15 homers and 54 RBI) got him enough votes to finish second in the Rookie of the Year voting to Al Bumbry. Unfortunately, that was his career year in the majors. Those were all career highs that he would never meet again.
In 1975 began to lose significant playing time. In 1976 he was traded to the Tigers mid-season for Gary Sutherland. He finished that season in Detroit but the move didn’t help his numbers at all. The Tigers released him in December of that year and he signed as a free agent at the start of the next year with the expansion Blue Jays. He was their Opening Day second baseman but was released by the end of June.
He tried to make it with the Padres and played in the minor leagues with their team in Hawaii but never made it back. After that he spent time playin in the Mexican League.

I really don’t have many ’75 Topps cards signed at all. In fact, I don’t have a lot of ’75 Topps cards in general. I guess if I don’t have a lot of a certain set it makes it hard to find doubles for it. So I was really glad to see this one come back from Pedro. The blue marker works great with Brewers blue from back then.
