The Story of the Autograph

Ricky Proehl is a former wide receiver in the National Football League. He played from 1990 to 2006 with the Phoenix/Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks, Chicago Bears, St. Louis Rams, Carolina Panthers, and Indianapolis Colts.

Proehl was born in the Bronx, New York and raised in New Jersey. He played both football and baseball in high school. In football he was a New York All-Metro selection, Somerset County Player of the Year, and an All-State pick. He went to college at Wake Forest and hold Deamon Deacon records for receiving yards and touchdowns. The Cardinals drafted him in the third round of the 1990 NFL Draft.

He set a rookie record for receptions and was the first rookie to lead the team in receptions since 1950. He bounced around a bit before becoming part of “The Greatest Show on Turf” with the St. Louis Rams. He would help them win Super Bowl XXXIV against the Titans. He retired but was talked out of it twice. First to play for the Panthers and then to play with the Colts where he would be part of their Super Bowl XLI winning squad.

Proehl never had a 1,000 season with his highest yardage totals mostly coming in his early years in Phoenix. He did put up some good numbers with the Rams later in his career as well though.

I found that Proehl’s nickname was “Two Months” given to him by a college teammate. That was because it took coaches two months to find out that he was really good.

The Score on Ricky Proehl – 9

It seems like Ricky only signs one at a time, but damn did this one come out great. The card definitely give him a great shot at it because there’s not much going on and it really lets it show off. But Ricky has to lay the right ink down on there and he did. It’s a nice and clean marker and he fills it up pretty well.

Thanks Mr. Proehl! I’m giving this return a 9.
