The Story of the Autograph
Vinny Del Negro is a former guard and coach in the NBA. He played from 1988 to 2001 with the Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs, Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns, with some stops in Europe in there. He later coached the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Clippers.
Del Negro was born and raised in Springfield, Massachusetts. He went on to attend North Carolina State and play for Jim Valvano. As a junior he helped his team to an ACC tournament championship and as a senior he was All-ACC. He was selected by the Kings with the 29th overall pick of the 1988 NBA draft. He played there for two seasons and then played in Italy and won a championship.
He then returned to the NBA and played with he Spurs for six seasons, then went back to Italy again. Then he came back to the NBA and played with three more teams.
After his career as a player he was a radio broadcaster for the Suns who would ultimately high him to be part of their front office. Then he went into coaching.

I’m glad I had a Spurs card for Vinny to sign because that’s really of where I think of him being as a player. It’s actually surprising that I do because that’s part of some years of cards that I’m less likely to have a whole lot of. The marker he used wasn’t super strong. But that said, nothing helps a signature much on those 1990 Skybox cards.
