The Story of the Autograph
Tom Magrann is a former catcher in the major leagues. He played with the Cleveland Indians in 1989.
Magran was born and raised in Florida. He went to Broward Community Collee and was not drafted. He started his career in the Phillies organization in 1983. He then moved on to the Orioles in 1986 and was then traded to the Indians in 1988. He made his major league debut the following year on September 7, 1989.
He only played nine games. He got ten at bats and never had a hit, but had four strikeouts. But he did throw out a runner at second base before the season was out, the only one in his career. The Indians then picked up Sandy Alomar, Jr. and whatever slim hopes he had of playing, that settled that.
He stopped playing in the U.S. in 1991 and then went to Belgium to play in 1992. He’s been a firefighter and paramedic in Florida and coached at Coral Springs Charter School.
The Score on Tom Magrann – 6.5
There’s a lot of space to sign on this card, but Tom, signature while not small, isn’t big either. He almost puts in it the corner of the card. This was a good opportunity to help me fill out the Indians in the 1990 Donruss set.
Thanks Mr. Magrann! I’m giving this return a 6.5.
