The Story of the Autograph
Tim Jones is a former infielder in the major leagues. He played from 1988 to 1993 and spent his entire career with the St. Louis Cardinals.
Jones was born and raised in Sumter, South Carolina. He played his college baseball at The Citadel. The Cardinals then drafted him in the second round of the 1985 MLB Draft. He made his major league debut with them three years later on July 26, 1988.
He never played more than 67 games in a season and was always up and down to the minors. His best season was 1990 when he played in a career high 67 games and hit .219. He had his only career homer that year and a career high twelve RBI.
He played his final major league game on October 2, 1993.
The Score on Tim Jones – 7.0
Tim has a pretty simple signature, but I think I really like it because of that. It looks really good on all of these cards, but especially on the 1989 Fleer card. That one just gives it the best chance to show off. He signed in the classic blue but this is where I would like to see black to maybe go better with the Cardinals uniforms.
Thanks Mr. Jones! I’m giving this return a 7 overall.
