The Story of the Autograph
Steve Wilson is a former center in the NFL. He played from 1976 to 1985 and spent his entire career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Wilson was born in Oklahoma but grew up in Georgia. He went to the University of Georgia and was then taken by the Buccaneers with a fifth round pick in the 1976 NFL Draft. That made him part of the original Buccaneers teams. He started about half the games he played in for the first two years of his career and then was a full time starting in 1978.
His coaches, Bill “Tiger” Johnson, once said that he was “the best pass-blocking center I have ever coached.” That was evidenced by him being a member of the offensive line that only allowed 12 sacks in 16 games in 1979. The following year they were presented with an oward as the “Best Offensive Line in the NFL.” While the beginnings of the Buccaneers were not that great he helped them to the playoffs in the 1979, 1981, and 1982 seasons.
Wilson was the last original Buc to retire.

There are a couple Steve Wilsons that were players in different sports, and at least two Steve Wilsons that will sign TTM. So I’m really glad I didn’t get this one mixed up. This one game out great. I feel like this is pretty much the epitome of a 70’s NFL card with the look Steve has and with the old Bucs pumpkin uniforms.
