The Story of the Autograph
Steve Dunn is a former first baseman in the major leagues. He played with the Minnesota Twins during the 1994 and 1995 seasons.
Dunn was born in Illinois but raised in Northern Virginia (going to high school right down the road from me at Robinson Secondary School in Fairfax, VA). He was All-Met and a Top 10 Baseball American prospect. He was all set to attend the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill until the Twins drafted him in the fourth round of the 1988 MLB Draft. He went to a Twins game and took batting practice and was convinced to sign.
After several years in the minors he made his major league debut on May 3, 1994. But he only played in 14 games that season and only 19 games for his career. He hit .195 with eight hits, five doubles and four RBI. He was released by the Twins after the 1995 season and was signed by the Indians but never reached the major league level again.
He went on to be a teacher and baseball coach for a high school in Tennessee.
The Score on Steve Dunn – 6.0
I think Steve did as good a job as he could on these. The cards aren’t the best for signing, especially that 1995 Fleer card. As for the Classic card, it just got a little rubbed in the envelop. I think I’ve collected more of his cards since I got these back so I will definitely be trying him again.
Thanks Mr. Dunn! I’m giving this return a 6 overall.
