The Story of the Autograph
Steve Cishek is a right-handed reliever who currently pitches in the major leagues. He started his career in 2010 with the then Florida Marlins that became the Miami Marlins while he was there. He’s also played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Seattle Mariners, Tampa Bay Rays, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, and most recently for the Los Angeles Angels. Her was just recently signed by the Washington Nationals.
Cishek was born and raised in Falmouth, Massachusetts. He attended the Division II school Carson-Newman College in Tennessee where he helped them to a conference championship. The Marlins then selected him with their fifth round pick in the 2007 MLB Draft. Three years later he was called up and made his major league debut on September 20, 2010.
He spent the most significant time of anywhere in his career thus far with the Marlins. He started in relief and would eventually spelled Heath Bell as the closer twice. That led to back to back 30+ save season in 2013 an 2014 with a career high 39 saves in 2014. In 2015 he was sent back down to the minors though as his ERA started to balloon to almost 7. The Marlins then traded him to the Cardinals in the middle of 2015.
That started a lot of moving around for Cishek. He’s pretty much played for one or two years in all of the places he signed or been traded to since.
The Score on Steve Cishek – 7.0
Well, talk about consistency. Steve’s signature looks great across these three cards. They all might not show it off very well, but it still looks good on there. The consistency I’m noting in particular is with the facsimile signature on that one Heritage card. The only thing different is his number. I’m glad I have him on a Marlins card because those are where he’s had his best years to this point in his career.
Thanks Mr. Cishek! I’m giving this return a 7.
