The Story of the Autograph
Stan Clarke is a former left-handed pitcher in the major leagues. He played from 1983 to 1990 with the Toronto Blue Jays, Seattle Mariners, Kansas City Royals, and St. Louis Cardinals.
Clarke is a native of Toledo, Ohio. He went on to attend the University of Toledo. The Blue Jays drafted him out of college in the sixth round of the 1981 MLB Draft. He made his major league debut with them two years later on June 7, 1983.
He never got much significant time in with a major league team. While he played from 1983 to 1990, he only made appearances in six years and his most appearances were 22 with Seattle in 1987. He worked as a reliever in all places except Kansas City where he had two starts, both losses, in 1989. He mostly moved from team to team as a free agent but was also a rule 5 pick by the Mariners and then via trade, for Bruce Fields, that sent him to the Tigers, though he never played for them in the majors.
The Score on Stan Clarke – 7.0
I think this is the only card that Stan has out there, at least any major league card that he has. So this is really the only option that I had to get signed. I probably have a ton of them though as this is the type of card you tend to get a lot of doubles of. Its a solid return though and the blue marker looks great with those old Mariners uniforms and colors.
Thanks Mr. Clarke! I’m giving this return a 7.
