The Story of the Autograph
Sister Mary Jo Sobieck is a member of the Dominican Sisters of Springfield, Illinois and was a teacher of theology at Marian Catholic High School until 2020.
Sister Mary Jo was born in Suk Rapids, Minnesota as the youngest of ten children. She’s taught elementary students in Aurora, Illinois and Duluth, Minnesota, then high school at Marian Catholic after earning a master of systematic theology from St. John’s University, Collegeville in 2007. She travels a lot and had been studying Spanish language and cultures in her travels.
She made it on to an Allen & Ginter card because she threw out the first pitch at a White Sox game in August of 2018 as part of Marian Catholic’s 60th Anniversary celebration.

This was a fun return from Sister Mary Jo. I always like dabbling a little out of the sports realm and for this one its kind of a little of baseball and a little not. She included a great not and did not have to apologize for any delay in signing as whatever she did was appreciated. While I myself am not a religious person, I think Sister Mary Jo’s story is great and we need more good people like her.
