Born on August 27, 1954, in Evansville, Indiana, Studwell grew up in a sports-loving family. He was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the ninth round of the 1977 NFL Draft, a pick that would prove to be one of the best value selections in the team’s history. Standing 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 230 pounds, Studwell was not the most physically imposing linebacker, but his intelligence, toughness, and tenacity more than made up for it.

After retiring as a player following the 1990 season, Scott Studwell continued to make a significant impact on the Vikings organization. He transitioned to a front-office role, where he served as a scout and later as the Vikings’ Director of College Scouting. In this role, Studwell was instrumental in identifying and drafting many of the players who would go on to define the Vikings’ success in the years following his retirement.

His work in the scouting department helped shape the future of the Vikings, as he brought in talent that would help the team remain competitive in the ever-evolving NFL landscape. In 2014, Studwell retired from his role in the Vikings’ front office, leaving behind a legacy that few in the franchise’s history can match. His impact on the field, in the front office, and in the community has made him a beloved figure in Minnesota sports.

The Score on Scott Studwell – 7.0
Scott might have one of my favorite football signatures. It has those repeating “Ss” which I always love. But he also has a good size to his autograph and fills up the card width pretty well. I think the other thing that is great about this is the 1991 Pro Set art card that he signed. I love those.
Thanks Mr. Studwell! I’m giving this return a 7.
