The Story of the Autograph

Scott Service is a former right-handed pitcher in the major leagues. He played from 1988 to 2004 for the Philadelphia Phillies, Montreal Expos, Colorado Rockies, Cincinnati Reds (twice), San Francisco Giants, Kansas City Royals, Oakland Athletics, Arizona Diamondbacks (twice) and Toronto Blue Jays. He also played with the Chunichi Dragons in Japan in 1991.

Service is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio. He wasn’t drafted and the Phillies signed him as an amateur free agent in 1985. He made his major league debut for them on September 5, 1988. He bounced around quite a lot during his career as you can see from the amount of teams he played for. He also had two spells when he wasn’t in the major leagues for several seasons: 1989-1991 and 2001-2002.

The most significant time he put in was in Kansas City. There he appeared in 73 and 68 games in the 1998 and 1999 seasons respectively. His overall record was 20-22 with a 4.99 ERA in 338 games with one career start.

These came out really great from Scott. The marker he used looks really nice. I am really digging that little loop at the and and the dot of the “i” in his last name that is within that. The double “Ss” of his name look great too through. I’m hoping I can get that multi-player card signed by Shane Turner at some point too.

Thanks Mr. Service! I’m giving this return a 7.5.
