The Story of the Autograph
Scott Oberg is a current major league who plays for the Colorado Rockies. He’s been in the league since 2015 and has spent his entire career in Denver thus far.
Oberg was born and raised in New England and wen to school at the University of Connecticut. The Rockies drafted him in the 15th round of the 2012 MLB Draft. After time in the minors he made his major league debut on April 14, 2015 while John Axford was on family leave. He finished his rookie season with a 5.09 ERA and a 3-4 record in 64 games and 58.1 innings pitched.
After only appearing in 24 games in 2016 with another 5+ ERA, he improved steadily after that. In 2018 and 2019 he was great with a 2.45 ERA and 8-1 record and a 2.25 ERA and 6-1 record, respectively.
Unfortunately for Oberg, 2020 was not a good year for more reasons than a worldwide pandemic. It started in 2019 when he was found to have issues with blood clots in his arms. He started 2020 on the injured list and then they found more blood clots and shut him down for the year. He underwent surgery in March of 2021, his third so far, on this pitching arm.
The Score on Scott Oberg – 7.0
I like the little sort of underline Scott seems to do with the “g” at the end of his last name. It looks a little more so on the portrait card than the landscape card. I’m really hoping that Scott comes back from his arm issues. He was making improvements and it’s really a shame to see someone have that happen to them.
Thanks Scott! I’m giving this return a 7.
