The Story of the Autograph
Ryan Shealy is a former first baseman in the major leagues. He played in five seasons between 2005 to 2010. During that time he played for the Colorado Rockies, Kansas City Royals, and the Boston Red Sox.
Shealy is a native of Florida and was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale. He earned a scholarship to the University of Florida and played for the Gators from 1998 to 2002. The Rockies then drafted him in the 11th round of the 2002 MLB Draft. After some time in the minors he made his major league debut on June 14, 2005. He had a great start in the first 36 game he had in that year, putting up a .330 average with two homers and sixteen RBI.
The following season he was traded to the Kansas City Royals for Jeremy Affeldt and Denny Bautista. He continued to play well in Kansas City but had that season ended short by illness. He made it into 50+ games in the next two seasons and then finally just 20 games in 2008. From there he played in the minors with the Rays and then made it into a couple games with the Red Sox before being release. He was in the minors with the Blue Jays as late as 2011 but never again made it into an MLB game.

I like Ryan’s loopy signature. Unfortunately that Bowman card suffered from rubbing up against the other card in the envelope. The Upper Deck card is really a good one so the scores balance out a bit on these. I think I would have like it even better if it was signed in blue.
