The Story of the Autograph
Russ Morman is a former first baseman in the major leagues. He played from 1988 to 1997 with the Chicago White Sox, Kansas City Royals, and Florida Marlins.
Morman was born in Missouri. He went to college first at Iowa Western Community College. He was first drafted while he was there by the Kansas City Royals with their seventh round pick in the 1981 MLB Draft. But he didn’t sign and ended up going to Wichita State next. The White Sox then drafted him in the first round of the 1983 MLB Draft with the 28th overall pick. He would make his major league debut with them on August 3, 1986.
Mormon played the most games in any single season he played in in the first season he was in the major leagues. In 1986 he played in 49 games and hit .252 with four home runs and seventeen RBI. That was the most playing time and pretty much the best statistics of his career. As a player he was mostly up and down to the minors… but mostly down.
After his playing days were over he managed and coached in the minors. As recently he as 2015 he was managing in the Giants minor league system.
The Score on Russ Morman – 7.0
I really like Ross’ “R”. Unfortunately, I don’t t know that any of these do a great job of showing it. I also like that at times his signature kind of looks like an arrow because it starts out thick and then thins out at the end. You can see that best on the 1991 Leaf card.
Thanks Mr. Morman! I’m giving this return a 7 overall.
