The Story of the Autograph
Rich Yett is a former right-handed pitcher in the major leagues. He worked primarily as a reliever for the Minnesota Twins (twice) and Cleveland Indians from 1985 to 1990.
Yett is a native of California. He was drafted out of high school by the Twins in the 26th round of the 1980 MLB Draft. He made his first appearance in the majors for the Twins five years later on April 13, 1985. He just made that one appearance for the them that season though. Minnesota traded him to the Indians as the player to be named later in a deal that sent Jay Bell among others to the Indians for Bert Blyleven.
He played the next four seasons in Cleveland making in the neighborhood of 30 appearances each season. His best season was in 1988 when he played in 23 games with 22 starts (the most starts he would make in a season by far). He went 9-6 with a 4.62 ERA. But the Indians would release him and he went back to Minnesota for the 1990 season. He would only make four appearances for them in the majors and last appeared on April 25, 1990.
The Score on Rich Yett – 5.5
Well I don’t think I’ve seen a green marker before. If I have I certainly don’t remember it because it really doesn’t happen very often. At least I think Rich signed with a green marker. It could be some kind of light blue though. While I applaud the alternate color, it doesn’t help it peak through those images. I think the ones that show it off the best are the 1990 Donruss and 1990 Fleer cards.
Thanks Mr. Yett! I’m giving this return a 5.5.
