This was not a great week all the way around. First and foremost, my grandmother died. She was heading toward 100 and all of the ladies in the older generations of our family have made it to that 97-100 range. But her quality of life had been declining for a while so while it’s cliche to say it, she really is in a better place. My thoughts for the last few years was that she was such a tough old lady that she was probably too tough for her own good the last few years.
We lived near my grandparents until I was in sixth grade so it was nice to be able to ride around the block and hang out over their house. I remember doing so much over there as a kid. And my grandmother always felt old as a lot of the people in my family go gray really early. She always just had white hair.
The house and everything is all still in the family with my Aunt and Uncle living there now. It will be odd to be there without her there.
The rest of the bad pales in comparison but I had to work late on Friday AND it was a crap week of return totals.

Other Notes
As I mentioned earlier, just not a good week all the way around. I only got 10 returns back this week. It was bound to be less with one less day of mail for the holiday, but that seems a bit extreme. And with so little that came back, it’s less chance for anything being interesting for stragglers or anything like that. My oldest return was out for only 96 days.
